DESCRIPTION
Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India invites women applicants for Women Scientists Scheme (WOS-A) 2017-18. This is specially meant for women having a break in their career arises out of motherhood and family responsibilities and not having employed anywhere. Fellows will get monthly stipend Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 55,000 and research grant up to Rs. 30,00,000. The option for the revival of their profession is presently unavailable due to restrictions in age and qualification and no system at present addresses these issues. This opportunity is only for those women scientists and technologists who are in between the age group of 27-57 years and having desire to return to mainstream science and work as bench-level scientists. Through this endeavor of the department, a concerted effort would be made to give women a strong foothold into the scientific profession, help them re-enter into the mainstream and provide a launch pad for further forays into the field of Science and Technology. Scientific Disciplines in which one can apply are Physical and Mathematical Sciences [PMS], Chemical Sciences [CS], Life Sciences [LS], Earth and Atmospheric Sciences [EAS], Engineering & Technology [ET].

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Only for women candidates.Age between 27 to 57 years.Women scientists having a Ph.D. in Basic or Applied Sciences, M.Tech, MD, MS, DM, MCH in Medical Sciences from recognized Universities.Age relaxation of 5 years would be given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC and physically challenged.
